Our Speaker for Dec. 4 was Tracey Lanier from 10,000 Degrees, college scholarships and more.  It was founded 32 years ago as Marin Educational Fund.  The mission of the group is to provide access to college education for students with low-income backgrounds.

Debra Stutzlman was our speaker for the day.  Debra is Town Manager for the Town of San Anselmo

Fellow Rotarian, John Jordan of the Victoria, B.C. Rotary Club was our speaker on Nov. 6.  His topic was his work in Rwanda

Happy Halloween was the theme for only one of our members on Oct.30

 

 

 

Following our festive Jon Marchant we had Garrett Toy, Town Manager for Fairfax as our speaker.

On October 23 Duncan MacSwain paid us a repeat visit and talked more on international travel.

Our speaker for October 16 was San Anselmo's Vice Mayor, Tom McInerney. 

He gave a presentation on the Highway 101/SFD Blvd Flyover.

On October 9 Duncan MacSwain was our speaker.  His talk was titled:

How to enhance your International travel experiences

Following our lunch, Samantha Zorn and David Dye, Co-Directors of RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) were our speakers.

Krishna Kumar, the new General Manager of Marin Municipal Water District was our speaker on the 25th of September.

Our meeting on Sept. 18 started of with the induction of our newest member Donna DiBasilio.

 

Donna' sponsor Ron Gonzales and Ken Franceschi (Ken is from Mission San Rafael) assisted President Sue in the induction.

and Ron applied the Rotary Pin.

 

Our speaker of the day was Mary Jane Burke, Marin County Schools Superintendent

 On Sept. 15 we held our Annual retreat at Pat Swensen’s home

 

Our meeting of Sept. 11 started of with an 'Infomercial' by Jim Miller.  Once again he used his low tech PowerPoint stick to explain our Rotary Foundation giving.  Let's all pony up the money so that we don't have to see any more charts, or whatever he calls these:

 

 

After the fine lunch our speaker, Jamison Watts gave a presentation on MALT (Marin Agricultural Land Trust)

That was followed by a low tech "PowerPoint" presentation on our Foundation Giving by Jim Miller

Today (August 21) our program speakers were from the MARINSCOPE COMMUNITY NEWSPAPERS

 

 

           Maria McKellips is the Advertising Specialist and is preparing an issue devoted to the activities and deeds of the Rotary Clubs of Marin. 

Joe Wolfcale is the Editor, and spoke of the business of running local newspapers.

When we advertise in the Marin Rotary Issue of the Marinscope Newspapers, Marinscope will contribute 15% of the advertising cost back our Rotary club in trade on your behalf.

Arnold Kunst was our speaker on August 7.  Historian, Arnold gave a presentation titled 'Introducing Abraham Lincoln to the 21st Century.

Brian Van Weele, Director of Philanthropic Planning for Marin Community Foundation was our speaker for the July 31 meeting.

Our Speaker for July 24 was our District 5150 Governor, Eric E. Schmautz.  Eric started us off with hug for President Sue.  That was followed by the presentation of a 3 ruby Paul Harris pin.  Joan has the highest level of Paul Harris giving of this club.
