There are 34,416 Rotary clubs in over 200 countries & geographical areas. At last count there were 1,216,779 members.
Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds.

As signified by the motto Service Above Self, Rotary’s main objective is service - in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world.

The Rotary Club of Ross Valley was chartered on May 21, 1925 and is one of the oldest clubs in Marin County. We have over 87 Years of Service. Our meetings are every Wednesday, 12 Noon until 1:30 PM at Deer Park Villa, 367 Bolinas Road in Fairfax. (415) 456-8084

We currently have 30 active members in the Rotary Club of Ross Valley.

Paul Rodgers, a retired USA airline pilot was our speaker for Feb. 20 He talked about his long career as pilot and his participation in changing the retirement age for pilots from 60 to 65.

For our meeting of Feb. 6 we had Bob Inter (current District Governor) and his wife Riki (Past District Governor) and they made a humorous plug for the District Conference 2013 which will be held at the Four Seasons Restaurant in San Francisco's Chinatown on May 3 & 4, 2013.

Our speaker today was Rotarian Ronald W. Harness from Global Strategic Sources who presented a program on Global Warming.
Our speaker for Wednesday, Jan. 30 was Mary Ann Maggiore who returned to talk further about the development of teenagers into functional adults.
The program portion of our Jan. 23 meeting our President Tom inducted Tami Lyon into our club.  Tami is replacing our own Marcella at the bank.
Today we are also saying goodbye to Marcella.  So.... Tom presented Marcella with flowers and thank you for many jobs well done in our Rotary club.

Our speaker today was Pia Mize.  Pia is the Relations Liason for Hospice by By The Bay here in Marin.

On January 16 Carolyn Kohler of  website/wordsmith brought us a program on increasing the effectiveness of your websites.  Yours truly appreciated the information.
Margaret Myles, head librarian from the Fairfax Library, returned on Jan. 9 as our speaker
President Tom started off the year 2013 with a 'guess the Rotarian' quizz.  Joan Capurro identified Sue Barstow as the mystery Rotarian almost imediately.  That did not stop pres. Tom from going through all of the interesting information about Sue.  By the end of the meeting it was more like a roast of our President Elect Sue Barstow.
Our last meeting of the year was a 'Bar Meeting' at Deer Park Villa on 12/19/12 Good food, good times throughout the room

Above we have President elect, Sue Barstow and President (for a 3rd term) elect-elect, Ted Wight.

And over at this table it looks like some serious business is being transpired,
or is it a conspiracy to overthrow Ted Wight's 3rd term?

Lots of great food and good cheer helped our club celebrate the end of the year.

We meet on Sunday night at Jason's in Greenbrae for our Christmas Party.

Dictionary distribution to 3rd graders at Brookside School, Lower Campus on 12/14/12 by Tom Keating and John Smith.

Our speaker for December 5, 2012 was Joel Kirsch, PhD. President of American Sports. He is the former sports psychologist for the San Francisco Giants.

Our speaker for Nov. 7 was Mary Maggiore. Mary is the founder of 'Five 4 Five', an organization that helps teens and young adults find direction in their lives.

At our meeting on October 24 we had Drake High School Students who will be travelling to Europe next year as part of the 18th trip of Arete West to Europe.   Bill Taylor is the leader and 6 of Drake High's finest students told us of their expectations for this trip.

Our speaker for October 17 was Jim Cerreta. Jim is the Business Manager for the Ross Valley School District.

October 10, 2012  started off with Nick Kerry Ringing the Bell for another trip to Europe.

After that we had Margy Eller, President of the League of Women Voters to talk about the up-coming election.

Our meeting on October 3rd was without a speaker.  However there was lots of good humor and information. First there was a presentation to "Brave" Jim Miller for leading last week's meeting.

That's another feather in Jim's cap!

Next a shirt was presented to Bill Taylor because USC beat the Cal Bears.
